DLA Piper adds former NAIC CEO Gary Anderson to its Insurance practice
DLA Piper has added Gary Anderson as a Partner in its Insurance practice in Boston, where he advises insurers, reinsurers, and other industry participants on complex regulatory and compliance matters, disputes, as well as insurance-related investment activity amid increasing regulatory scrutiny.
Anderson brings senior-level insurance regulatory experience, established relationships across the insurance industry, and a technical perspective that supports insurance entities and financial institutions serving insurance sector clients worldwide. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) from 2024 to 2025, and as Commissioner of Insurance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2017 to 2024. Across both roles, he helped shape regulatory strategy for domestic and international bodies.
